Job Brief
We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee our financial management, including corporate accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. This role will be critical in supporting strategic decision-making and maintaining our financial health.
Responsibilities
- Supervise accounting operations, including transactional accuracy and financial reporting.
- Direct the development of budgets, financial forecasts, and report variances.
- Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including the management of data rooms as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with HMRC for tax reporting and compliance.
- Enhance internal financial controls and procedures.
- Build and maintain financial forecasting models to support business growth
- Management of monthly payments to suppliers, payroll and expenses
- Working closely with external accountants who provide monthly payroll, reconciliation services.
- Conduct technical accounting research and provide guidance.
- Facilitate and streamline the month-end and year-end close process.
Requirements
- A track record of success as a Financial Controller or similar position.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting and finance experience.
- Advanced accounting degree; ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification preferable.
- In-depth understanding of accounting principles, UK GAAP, and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in Xero accounting software and MS Excel.
- Analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and detail.
- Exceptional organisational and leadership skills.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
